Joel’s diverse background and upbringing in alternative education makes him well-equipped to support teens and families exploring alternative education, individuals pursuing acrobatics and fitness, creatives seeking guidance, and circus artists refining their technique and audition readiness.

​With experience spanning Broadway level creations, collaborations with Les Sept Doigts, tight-wire acts in German cabarets, and creating festival-specific performances, Joel excels in a variety of live performance roles. He has also co-founded circus collectives, produced multidisciplinary events, and composes original music, making him well-equipped to perform, design, or coach across diverse disciplines.
About
Among other things, Joel is a grown unschooler, graduate of the National Circus School of Montréal, musician, gymnastics, parkour and circus coach with over 15 years of teaching experience, youth mentor and constant brainstormer. 'Double Front Flip' is a hub for coaching, mentoring and brainstorming sessions as well as a living gallery of projects passed and present, a landing place for those interested in Joel's work and services; a place for future collaborations to begin.
